The name Perceptions of a Renegade Mind gives the non-human force, taken from the Cree and wider Native American concept of a mind-virus. It is "the force that holds humanity in servitude"[1]. Icke equates it with the Gnostic Archons and Yaldabaoth, the Jinn, the Predators and the Chitauri: "For Wetiko see the Gnostic Archons for sure"[1]. "Wetiko is the Yaldabaoth frequency distortion that seeks to attach to human consciousness and absorb it"[1]. "The Cult is Wetiko incarnate, Yaldabaoth incarnate", and the Wetiko Field coordinates the whole Cult pyramid without human coordination[1]. It sits under the Demiurge and beside the Archons as the book's name for the same force; the equation is Icke's, and both keep their own profiles.

- Icke came across the concept "about a year ago" through Paul Levy[1]. He follows Jack D. Forbes in reading history as "the epidemiology of the wetiko disease" for the past 2,000 years, "and much longer", and says wetikos destroyed Egypt, Babylon, Athens, Rome and Tenochtitlan[1]. He links it to the trickster gods of myth and to Steiner's Ahriman[2].
