"The Islamic version of the Templars", founded by Hassan Sabah in 1090, ruling by fear and terror; they worked with the Templars while appearing to be on the opposite side, and were later used by the British Empire in the opium trade[3].
Controls / directs
It initiated the Knights Templar and gave them a secret allowance of 3,000 gold pieces "from the larger to the smaller organization". It influenced the Hospitallers, Jesuits, Dominicans and Franciscans ("traced either to Cairo or to Alamut"), evolved into the Thugs and the Roshaniya, and infiltrated the Seljuk government and the Shah of Khwarazm's court[4]
