Position
The apex of the whole structure. Cooper calls him the "master of the material world", the god the adepts secretly worship, the secret god of the Masonic Lodge and "the heart and soul of the mysteries"[1]. Every symbol of the lower tiers points back to him.
An idea possibly born from the brilliant light of Venus passing close to Earth. Icke gives Lucifer as one name for the all-seeing eye[2]. In And the Truth Shall Set You Free Lucifer is one of the symbolic names (with Satan, Set and the Devil) for the Fourth-Dimensional consciousness Icke calls the Prison Warders[3]. Set is 'Lucifer, Satan, the Devil, et al.'[4]. In the later books Lucifer, "the light bringer", symbolises the Demiurge: the "luminous fire" of the electromagnetic spectrum that Satanists and secret-society initiates honour[5]. He is the "true god" of Sabbatian-Frankism and the real god of Freemasonry, and "the Cult 'god'" after whom the Gates-funded "Luciferase" digital tattoo is named[6]. Pike's "pure doctrine of Lucifer" is the Demiurgic force[7].

Lineage
He fell from heaven after rebelling against God (Isaiah, c. 740 BC). He spoke through the serpent to Eve and gave man intellect. He was then worshipped exoterically as the sun, which "shifted from the unseen God to the intellect", as Osiris, Baal and every later sun god, and in the Masonic lodge[11].

  1. 01The monolith in 2001 is Lucifer imparting forbidden knowledge. Initiates told Cooper that Christ and Lucifer are one being, which Cooper "cannot bring myself to believe"[14].
  2. 02The mystery schools consider Lucifer the good God and Jehovah the god of darkness. The illumined 666 is his incarnation[17].
  3. 03The New Age "writes God out of the picture and deifies Lucifer" (drawing on Constance Cumbey)[18].
  4. 04The serpent, the blazing star and the Masonic "Sun with a capital S" are all Lucifer. Masonic ritual keeps the North dark because it is the throne of God, which Lucifer seeks[19].
